Bio Passwords.

On first sight it looks like a joke, or a scam. But this technology is for real and is used by many companies. A US company is aiming to reduce the risk of identity theft by introducing bio-security to passwords, meaning that users would have to type their user name and password with consistent speed in order to be logged in.

So it means, that they check the speed of typing your passwords. This is called keystroke dynamics. Biopassword customers are mostly small banks and building societies. The system costs $34,000 to install, with a subscription of $1.15 per user per year.

I don't see much value in checking the speed. This is prone to generate tons of false positives. Because what happens when I type with one hand instead of two? Or what happens when I'm tired? And what about the elderly people? I really don't like being clocked by my bank to prove I'm real. There are far more better security schemes. Like 2 factor authentication with a physical cardreader or dongle at home. For what it's worth: $34,000 badly spend.
